Dr. M.K.Pradhan, GM(OSDMA) will depart for Bangalore on 17th Feb.’20 afternoon. Paper presentation will be on 18th Feb.’20 and he will return to Bhubaneswar on 19th Feb.’20. Sri Sahu along with Prof. Noetal will fly to Kolkata on 18th Feb.’20 evening in connection with a discussion with the Director,NIT Meghalaya regarding modalities for signing an MOU and discussion with Secy.(L&E),W.B and Bharat Chamber regarding organization of an Internal Conference on Vision Zero at Kolkata between 9th – 13th Nov.’20. Dr.M.K.Pradhan & Dr.K.K.Panda have given consent to present papers.

At the outset Sri. B.K.Sahu Director of  IGFP welcomed all the members . After delivering his welcome speech, he presented a booklet –on safety & health human rights  to all the members.

There after Sri. B.K.Sahu presented one video on IGFP journey till date. All the members & dignities have praised about the day to day activities of the IGFP till date while appreciating Sri. Sahu to his noble work on safety & health as well as to carry on in like wise .

Maine Points for Action as Brought out by Esteemed  Guests

01. Sri Sahu also declared that, henceforth instead of giving a flowers  in such meetings booklet, on Occupational of Safety & Health will be given to all the guests & participants. Also we should avoid plastic in office use in future .

02. There after A Calendar & greetings card for 2020 were released jointly by Esteemed Guests- Mr. Panchan kanungo , Sri.Amar Satapathy & Sri.Subash Singh, Calender & Greatings card were handed over to all the members.

03. Sri.Subash Singh proposed take a steps for to provide social security to the migrant workers. Hon chief minister will also going to have a special package of social security to the migrant workers soon.

Besides , the Govt.of Odisha is thinking for social security to the construction workers in near future steps will be finalized to provide safety & health for the construction worker.Support of IGFP will be taken for conducting awareness program for migrant workers.

04.      Sri.Amar Satapathy in formed to the house that the steps taken by the IGFP for social security safety & health for the industrial workers is praiseworthy & it is commendable job taken by the IGFP.

This activities will have a pressure on Govt.of Odisha to have their full co-operative to comedown the accident to 0 for the industrial workers @ Odisha.

This activities of IGFP must be reach to the Un organized workers so that they will be free from Accidental hazards , Sri.Amar Satapathy proposed to have a program on Safety & Health in the industrial belt of odisha instead at Bhubaneswar.

0 5. Dr.Ram Chandra Rout informed to the house that ,besides safety on accident & health, Awareness program/ health checkup camps on HIV  can be taken by the IGFP among the truck drivers , workers & labourers on daily wages etc.

06.      Sri.Panchana Kanungo informed to the house that IGFP should conduct Awareness programs by the IGFP in the industrial belts like Paradeep , Anugul Keonjhar, Rourkela etc So that  Vision Zero goal will reach un organized workers also .

Sri.Kanungo also advised to have a list of workers engaged in unorganized sectors in Odisha, so that it will be easier to provide awareness program & benefits of Govt programs amoung the unorganized sectors.

07.      Dr.K.K.Panda informed to the house that, since a good no of workers now affected by HIV but due to ignorance most of them died. Hence  blood checkup must be conducted  besides awareness program so that a better treatment can be given to the affected peoples.

08.      Sri.B.K.Sahu informed that health camp along with Awarness programs on OSH will be organized by the IGFP @ Industrial areas as proposed by Estemed guests as above  with the co-operation of all the members present in the house for which Dr.Panda from Essar Industry was requested to prepare an Action Plan in consultation with Dr. Malay Pradhan .

Sri.Sahu also informed that the suggestion to have a data bank of unorganized workers engaged in construction ,electricity & other sectors as suggested by Mr.Panchanan Kanungo who was chairing the function will be sent to Prof.Noetel of DGUV/BGBAU & ISSA Construction for their support in having the Data Bank with coordination of labour Commissioner/Odisha Construction Board & IGFP.

Sri.Bijay Kumar Dhal gave vote of thanks to all the members at the end of the meeting.

Workshop on “Good Practices on Safety, Health & Skill Development” for workers engaged in construction, Electricity, Mining and like industries on 20th December 2019.

Workshop on Occupational Safety and Health in Industrial & Construction Sectors

The Workshop on Occupational Safety and Health for the Industrial and Construction Sectors and Workers, with special emphasize on Falling from Height, took place 29-30 November, 2019, in Bhubaneswar India. Around 100 safety officers from small and big companies from around India participated in the workshop. Professor Karl-Heinz Noetel, President of the International Section of on Prevention in the Construction Industry of the International Social Security Association and Dr Bimal Kanti Sahu Former Insurance Commissioner ESIC/IRDA and Head of Indo-German Focal Point  introduced the workshop, which included a number of eminent national speakers.
