Highlights of today’s Launch of e Shram Portal by MOL.
National Registry of Unorganized workers who constitute 80% of total workforce in the country with approximately 58Crores or 580Million
2 It is meant for all categories of unorganized workers mainly Construction Domestic Street vendors and Agricultural workers
3 Registration is simple either by Self Certification or taking use of Help Centre at District state Central level. 4 Documents required are Aadhar card Account no Mobile no Address job details with skill level
5 with registration one will be eligible for Portability of welfare social security schemes of central and state govts and importantly automatically insurance corporation Rs 2lakh premium of which paid by govt of India for which a budgetary provisions of 406 Crores are initially available
6 Portability of Registration with State data and other portal will also be available in due course
7 For now benefits of Inter state Migrant workers Act 1979 and Unorganized workers Act 2008 will be available
8 Subsequently Govt of India Social security Schemes like ESI EPFO etc may be seeded to this Portal
9 A unique 12 digit no having universal acceptability will be generated after registration

Dear Madam Chitra Principal Secretary Labour & ESI Govt of Odisha. As you are aware Indo German Focal Point India ( IGFP) with support of Our German Partners DGUV which is having MOU with DGFASLI & ESIC MOL for OSH SS Activities in India has been articulating the need for National Registration of Unorganized Informal Migrant Workers in the wake of Covid19 Pandemic bringing into Focus Challenges for both Govt of India and States. It is in above perspective, Launch of Shram Portal by MOL yesterday is historic to enable Such million of Workers getting the benefits of Welfare Schemes both of Central & State Governments by registering in this Portal. Odisha under the dynamic leadership of Hon CM can take A Lead by Registering All Contract Workers engaged by Municipality District State Administration and Particularly Agricultural Workers, Asha Aganwadi Self Help Group Women Workers ect. This will be A Game Changer for other States to follow. IGFP would like to offer any Technical support/ Training ect to enable all our Workers eligible get registered including Migrant workers from Odisha @ Different states.
